Frequently asked questions

How long does cataract surgery take?

Modern cataract surgery is usually a day-care procedure, so most patients go home the same day. Your surgeon will explain the full timeline and recovery plan during your consultation.

Am I a good candidate for glasses removal surgery?

Generally, people aged 18 or above with a stable glasses power and a healthy cornea are suitable. A detailed eye evaluation confirms whether it is right for you.

How often should I get my eyes checked?

Adults over 40, people with diabetes or high blood pressure, and anyone with a family history of glaucoma should have a complete eye check-up every year. Children should be checked before starting school.

Do I need an appointment?

Booking ahead helps us keep waiting times short. You can book using the form, call us, or message us on WhatsApp.

What are your timings?

We are open Monday to Saturday, 9:30 am to 7 pm. The hospital is closed on Sundays.

How soon can I resume work after eye surgery?

Most patients can return to work about 7 days after eye surgery. Desk work may sometimes resume a little sooner, while physically demanding, outdoor or dusty work may need more time. Your surgeon will confirm the right time for you based on the type of surgery and how your eye is healing.

What precautions do I need to take after eye surgery?

Keep water, smoke and dust away from the operated eye, and avoid rubbing it. Clean the eye only in the way your doctor advises, use your eye drops exactly as prescribed, and wear the protective shield or glasses given to you. Avoid swimming, heavy lifting and eye make-up until your doctor says it is safe, and attend all your follow-up visits.

How soon can I travel after eye surgery?

Most patients can travel about 7 days after eye surgery. If you need to travel sooner, please discuss it with your surgeon first. While travelling, protect your eye from dust and wind, carry your eye drops with you, and plan around your follow-up appointments.

Is splashing cold water good for eye health?

It is best to avoid splashing water directly onto your eyes. It does not improve eye health, and tap water can carry germs and irritants. To freshen up, wash your face with your eyes closed, or place a clean, damp cloth over your closed eyelids. If your eyes often feel dry, tired or irritated, have them checked by an eye doctor.

Do blue light filter or UV-protection glasses protect the eyes during screen time?

Yes. Glasses with a blue light filter and anti-glare coating can make long hours of screen time more comfortable, and UV-protective lenses help shield your eyes when you are outdoors. For the best results, also follow the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something about 20 feet away for 20 seconds, and remember to blink often.
